The full ingredient list
1. Henna leaf powder (Lawsonia inermis)
The main ingredient. Milled from the leaves of the Lawsonia inermis shrub, which is grown commercially in Rajasthan (especially around Sojat) and other parts of India. The lawsone molecule in henna leaf is what binds to keratin in your skin and produces the reddish-brown stain.
Golecha sources henna leaf from established Rajasthani growers. Sourcing details are available on request to commercial buyers.
2. Water
Water, used to mix the powder into a paste.
3. Essential oils (for fragrance)
Small amounts of essential oils are added to the paste for fragrance. The specific oils used vary by product line.
4. Other supporting ingredients
Depending on the product and the shade, the formulation may also include small amounts of sugar or sucrose (to improve paste consistency and adhesion to the skin) and other approved ingredients that support color development and stability.

What is NOT in authentic Golecha henna
| Ingredient | Why Golecha doesn’t use it |
|---|---|
| PPD (para-phenylenediamine) | The chemical responsible for the “instant dark stain” of black henna and for most reported chemical burns. Golecha formulations are PPD-free. |
| Ammonia | Used by some manufacturers to speed up stain development. Golecha formulations are ammonia-free. |
| Banned or restricted ingredients | Golecha does not use any banned or restricted ingredients. All ingredients in our formulations comply with applicable cosmetics regulations. |
| Lead compounds | Sometimes used in very cheap “instant” henna to darken the stain. Golecha does not use lead compounds. |
How to verify a Golecha ingredient list
Every batch of authentic Golecha henna carries:
- A batch or lot number printed on the cone, tube, or box (the exact format varies by product)
- A Golecha Naturals Pvt Ltd (or Golecha Herbals Unlimited) address on the packaging. The exact address shown depends on the product and market — if you want to verify the address on a specific product, email a photo to info@golechanaturals.com and we’ll confirm it within 24 hours.
If either of these is missing, the product is not authentic Golecha. Report suspected counterfeits to info@golechanaturals.com.
Want a Certificate of Analysis?
We provide COAs (Certificates of Analysis) for our products on request. Commercial buyers and regulatory agencies can request a COA by emailing info@golechanaturals.com with the batch number.
